As it stands today, Apple’s App Store has over 300 thousand iOS applications available for download, and the Android Marketplace has over 100 thousand apps itself. Consider offerings from Blackberry, Nokia, Palm, Windows, and Amazon, among others, it’s clear that mobile apps will continue to see big numbers for the foreseeable future. The appeal to consumers is obvious, but developers have fueled this growth due to the monetization potential involved with a growing industry.
